I just realized that to get through this weekend — nay, the rest of the year! – I would need all my powers, even those hitherto untapped. Hell, even powers that aren’t mine! BaDing, ang bato!
It would be a good idea to update today before i.ph’s scheduled server maintenance tomorrow. Hmmm, don’t quite know what to tell you, though. This morning, I was able to get some some writing done for work before going to a bruncheon meeting with Lizzie at Starbucks Waltermart. The original plan was for me to meet them at the Starbucks in Greenbelt 1, but because of a rally of some sort, for some reason, somewhere in Ayala, she had to move the meeting to the Waltermart Branch. I’m new to Makati and didn’t know how to get around much, or at least to the meeting place, so Lizzie had to come get me at the office. We walked towards one street and all the way down another, went through a couple of buildings and finally reached the place. Over pink guava juice and a chocolate eclair, we discussed the details for the…uh, I can’t tell you yet. I have a Monday deadline for this script so my brain must work overtime and double time to make it, especially since there’s already a lot on the table. So the good news is I have racket. The bad news is I have racket.
Back at the office, I checked my emails, took a few quick peeks at the Beerkada Forum and got one and a half pages of writing done. Then I was off to visit the CG boys on the 6th. The poor boys are so busy but really good - natured about it all. The ad is only 1/3 finished, but it’s looking really good. Will post it when it’s out. Then I had a meeting with the Engineering people and Aids about, uh, unlicensed software being used by businesses which has absolutely nothing to do with us. Really. Then we all had to prepare for an early - morning presentation tomorrow and discussed the pros and cons of bringing food and how much better it is to bring notebooks to give away instead. In between, I had to figure out how to get the all the partners together for a long overdue board meeting; Kai and I exchanged text messages in between the in - betweens. I told her how boring my day was (well, to others, at least) and we discussed the importance of regular practice in the art of flirting. Feh, you had to be there.
Sometime, too, during the day, Paula and I were able to say quick hellos to each other via text and partly live; it was so quick, all we were able to agree on was that brown - outs were baduy.
I called Monek to sync scheds and ended up going to Optima to have dinner with her. Along the way (just a short walk from where I work), I saw Lizzie again, and all three of us had dinner (Aligue Pasta for me and Monek, San Mig Light for Lizzie) at Indulgence. Burp. Fun way to end the day. When I got back to the office, I just packed my things and went home. Of course, going home meant one hour of nothing, and then more work when I finally did get home but, hey, I was going home. So maybe, in this case, it’s not the journey but the destination.
See? SS, DD.
